THE PATH

Title: The Path

Medium: Acrylic on canvas 102cm x 76cm

Year 2018

Artist :Lyia Meta

A continual passage to that which we consider our destination, of arriving home. Indeed we each have that journey to make and we walk the path of life that’s often wrought with circumstances beyond our control. Tumultuous at times, there will always be light for every dark and vice versa. So walk we must, spectators at times, side by side with time.

The tumultuous skies speak of our journey as it changes with passing time. The light and dark inhabits the same space as it undulates to the rhythm of life. It gives and it will take.

The surrounding landscape our refuge, we seek ourselves and purpose as we stand on this path. An observer, spectator, traveller and a seeker, we WILL reach our destination.FB_IMG_1519536933260

One of my recent works that have just been completed

Although I started this piece awhile back, I had stopped for a bit… gone on to other pieces..portraits, sketching, experimentation with other media etc etc. After my last piece, I started another one but then this piece kept catching my eye…. So I completed it. Post apocalyptic ‘OUR WORLD …DEVOID OF LIFE’. As dramatic as it may sound it would not be stretch to say that it’ll be because of the living that this world might eventually get there. Humans love to destroy one another( not all though 😉 so there is hope).

Untitiled- (still working at it)

It’s hard to work from imagination because you’re selling something only you can see in your head.
Almost done. About 60%. Still working on the sky … Wanting it to look ‘soft’..’dreamy’
.. So that’ll take a few more days because I like leaving the colours to ‘rest’ a bit before giving it another layer. Meanwhile the bottom half is only just breaking through. Don’t want competition here. Currently sitting under soft lighting rather than harsh white lights. So you get those pinkish yellowish tones jumping out at you. But if ever someone buys this, it should be hanged under those soft lights and this would be the effect.

Started another piece because this needs a day or two before I return to it… Acrylic 48″ x 36″
